Excellant replacement for my Whirlpool Duet washer.
I purchased my Whirlpool duet front-loading washer (model# GHW9250MW1) back in June of 2004. I recently noticed a number of holes in the washers door seal. After doing a lot of research I decided to take on the project myself instead of paying for a service call. The price I paid on Amazon was by far the cheapest I could find and it was a genuine Whirlpool part. Of course the information I collected in regards to installing the baffle made it look a little easier than it actually was but after all was said and done it took me just under 45 minutes and that included extra cleaning while the machine was apart. The best reference I can suggest is a YouTube video "Duet/HE3 Washer Door Boot Seal Replacement (part #8182119)". It steps you through the process with the basics. I would strongly recommend this product and I had no issues with the seller at all.
Just what I needed
My Whirlpool Duet had leaked intermittently for quite a while. Had a service guy out to look at it, and he couldn't find anything wrong with it. He mentioned that maybe the bellows had a tear in it somewhere that he (or I) couldn't find, and he would get me a price to replace it. The next day he called me back with a $375 price tag. Needless to say I skipped it. One day I came down and there were suds all over the floor- this time the bellows had a huge tear in it. I called a local parts place- $130 for the part. Got it here for a little over half that, plus I got it in less than a week. Took about an hour to replace it and it has not leaked since. I checked all over the internet and this was the best price anywhere.
Would not purchase anything from this company
I ordered this particular part to fit a Duet Front Load Washing machine. It arrived looking just as pictured above. It was the wrong part and was at least 7-12" too large for my Duet machine. The repairman was unable to install the part because it was so large. I repacked and paid $10.50 to have it shipped back to the company. They notified me that they could not give me a refund as the part was installed. I have witnesses that will sign affidavits that this part arrived and was unable to be installed by the repairman because it was the wrong part. They did offer to return the part. What do I need with a part that is the wrong part for my machine? Terrible customer service. I will appeal this decision through Amazon. This company does not need to be able to sell their products on any reputable web site.
