Hunter 30940 Replacement Filter for HEPAtech and QuietFlo Air Purifiers

Great product - HUNTER please lower the cost!
I'm extremely happy with the performance of my 6 year old QuietFlo. The filters work great, but it KILLS me to spend $80+/year in replacement filters/pre-filters. Bottom line: replacement filters cost WAY TO MUCH no matter what the brand! I think if one company would start selling replacement filters at reasonable prices -all companies would follow.

Not Genuine Hunter?
This filter from Filters America does not appear to be a genuine Hunter product. It did not arrive in Hunter packaging and, in contrast to the dark frame on my previous genuine Hunter 30940, this filter has a white frame.

Really helps & can stretch the lifespan if you vacuum it often
I have had mine for 7 years now. It has helped my asthma and allergies tremendously and that was before I was even diagnosed with asthma (so that's what that chronic coughing was at night time). I have found that you can cheat and help extend the life of the filters by carefully using your vacuum wand to clean from the outside of the machine, then open and run it over the carbon filter to collect larger dust/ animal hair deposits and then gently in front of the expensive HEPA filter and around the edges of the machine where it is not always air tight. I found that this was especially useful for us since we had a long haired Shepard mix breed that shed a lot of fluffy undercoat that would always get sucked into the filter. We also had it close to our rodent cage and even though we clean them usually every other day to every 3 days sometimes their cage can get a little smelly so being near the filter really cut down on that a lot! I am not saying that you should never change your filter...
