Roller and belt replacement of the DC17
Apparently the belts wear out and they make a very harsh sound when the teeth on the belt go. Ours lost about an inch of the teeth on the belt and was slipping. Watched Karen's YouTube how-to DIY installation (linked off their site) for both roller and belt replacement. Sent an Email about which belt matches with which roller and Crucial coordinated the model numbers (8 versus 10 mm versions). Bought belt, roller and extra reach flat (dryer) attachment and maybe 3-4 working days later it was here. This repair took 5 minutes or less.
Replacement Belts
Two belts for less than $6.00.....or replace the vacuum for $500.00. This product was delivered exactly as expected and saved me hundreds over what the wife wanted to do. Now the vacuum works as good as it always has.
