That was fast
Astetically it's a nice electric kettle.
I bought this just about a week ago and I'm returning it already due to a leak where the plastic window(BPA free?) meets the stainless steel housing. A significant leak at that!
A countertop electrical appliance that leaks is a recipe for disaster.
Looks Great, Works well, Breaks for no reason, No Support
Bought this kettle and was initially happy. Decent boil time and a good capacity. After a month of regular use the kettle just stopped operating. There was no unusual use, no power issues, just regular use. There are no resources online to trouble shoot any problems. Went with the Hamilton Beech kettle instead.
Recommend that you use distilled water only
I bought this item for my wife, who drinks coffee and tea daily. The Keurig machine we had was just way too expensive to order the individual coffee and tea packets, so we went for something more natural to heat water. It takes a few minutes to heat the water to boiling, which is fine.
However, about two weeks after using it, we noticed that there was a white precipitate on the sides and bottom of the stainless steel kettle, which started coming out as flakes in the coffee/tea. It looked pretty gross, although as someone who took a lot of biochemistry classes, I knew it was harmless. What was happening is that the boiling of water in a steel container was precipitating out the minerals in the spring water we were using. If you live in an area with good, clean, soft water, maybe you will be fine using that out of the tap. Otherwise you should use distilled water, which has no minerals; it's 100% pure water only. Last but not least, although distilled water is "pure", don't...
